Paul Nicklen's - Polar Obsession

I came across this book in an issue of Photo District News, under the segment of top books of 2009 and I asked for it for christmas. I really like the book, he shoots above water and under water and shoots a variety of subjects. I've always loved wildlife photography, and I've certainly never scene any arctic wildlife shots like these. The book does a great job showing the beauty of the arctic and antarctic without monotonous endless white snow. The book also documents his journeys and his techniques of how and why he got the photographs. I'd recommend this book to anyone interested in wildlife photography.

Edit. I checked, this is NOT from that issue of photo district news. I'm a big liar. No clue where I found it.

  1. I saw his exhibit in the NatGeo Museum during Thanksgiving break...fascinating. They call him the "Underwater Street Photographer" which I thought was fitting and quite cool.
